A national medical transport company has invested in the future of its colleagues with the launch of a brand-new, induction programme for all new starters.

Following an extensive change to its entire infrastructure last year, E-zec Medical has strengthened its commitment to internal training, job enrichment, and skills development with the launch of its world-class induction programme, the ACA Academy.

The 12-week programme takes all new recruits on a Journey to Performance and helps them to become fully immersed into the business, its values, and its overarching focus of providing high-quality healthcare to its patients.

Developed by Simon Pill, Head of Learning and Development at E-zec Medical, the programme provides more vocational, interactive learning to its colleagues across the UK and ensures they have all the support they need to excel as Ambulance Care Assistants.

Simon Pill explained: “Our Ambulance Care Assistants have such diverse, often challenging, roles to carry out and ensure the safety and comfort of our patients. As part of our new infrastructure, we’re delighted to be launching our brand-new ACA Academy which will provide even more in-depth training, advice, and ongoing support to help them thrive.”

For more experienced colleagues, the ACA Academy provides a whole host of training opportunities through Apprenticeship learning and clinical development programmes. The company’s new colleagues in its Wiltshire and Dorset contracts were the very first to join the Academy.

Justine Vaughan, Chief People Officer at the firm, added: “We are thrilled to have developed and implemented a Learning Programme for our colleagues which we believe truly sets us apart, with absolute focus on service experience, colleague development, and career advancement. We recognise that’s what’s really important to people and will help us to attract and retain the very best people.

“This, in turn, will enhance colleague retention and ensure our regular service users are greeted by familiar faces, which is hugely important as they can spot any potential issues or differences and carefully tailor their care. The programme will absolutely help to enhance the experience for our service users – having well-versed, trained, and confident colleagues ensures that the quality of care we provide is truly first-class.”

E-zec Medical was established in 1998 and has since grown to become a trusted provider of high-quality specialist healthcare transport for patients across the UK. The business began as a single ambulance providing repatriation services for people who became ill abroad, but has since grown to the become the largest independent provider of specialist transport, healthcare support, and clinical services nationwide.
