ERS Medical expands into North East

ERS Medical has further enhanced its specialist offering of patient transport services and continued to grow its UK presence through acquiring Medical Services North East (MSNE) Limited, an independent ambulance service provider covering Durham, Newcastle, Teeside and the surrounding areas.

The acquisition offers additional capacity to ERS Medical’s existing services including patient transport and medical events cover.

Brendan Fatchett, Managing Director at ERS Medical comments: “This acquisition is another exciting chapter in our business’ growth and allows us to build on our existing national patient care offering, continuing our excellent standard of care utilising MSNE’s additional resource and capabilities.

“MSNE is well established, reputable and a mature business that has been running since 2002, the staff base of 62 employees – including PTS staff and office based personnel will stay with the business.  We look forward to combining the expertise and local knowledge of MSNE’s staff with our own skills and innovative technologies to continue enhancing our excellent patient and customer experience.”

MSNE is the largest private ambulance provider in the North East, with a total of 159 customers including South Tees Hospital NHSFT, County Durham & Darlington NHS Trust, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Trust, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and NHS Sunderland CCG. Services to patients and customers in the area will continue unaffected.
