Patients in Kent were full of praise for South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust's (SECAmb) Patient Transport Service (PTS).

As part of its commitment to continually improve its service SECAmb's PTS team carries out regular patient satisfaction surveys. The latest survey carried out in the Eastern and Coastal Kent region reflects an extremely high level of care from staff.

Reassuringly 100% of patients who responded to the survey said they felt safe while being transported by the team, who take patients to and from vital appointments at hospitals across the region.

Some 97.4% of patients said staff were helpful and 95% said staff were friendly. A total of 97% of patients said appropriate help was given on arrival at a destination.

The overall level of satisfaction level with the service, which takes into account factors such as logistics with partner agencies, was also encouraging with 73% of patients saying they were very satisfied with the service and 22% satisfied.

Karen Dawes, PTS Manager East for SECAmb, said: "We are pleased that the majority of our patients are happy with the service we offer. I would like to pay tribute to our staff for their dedication commitment and hard work. Of course we recognise that improvements can always be made and as always will use the results of this survey to further improve patient care."
