Hackney Council is looking for an exceptional Enforcement Team Leader to join our Enforcement Team within our Community Safety, Enforcement and Business Regulation Service. As an Enforcement Team Leader, you will provide a visible uniformed presence across the borough and also be deployed on an area basis to understand and address localised problems, challenging and changing behaviours to contribute to the achievement of the Mayor’s priorities, Council’s corporate objectives.

 You will manage your team as part of a broader and more inclusive service, in the delivery of joined-up, accountable and timely management of enforcement action in line with legislation and Council Policies and Procedures which may include but not be limited to the issuing of formal notices, fixed penalties, cautions and prosecution action.

 The post holder will undertake a wide range of enforcement duties in relation to community safety, Anti-Social Behaviour, Licensing (Premises, Alcohol and Highways), street scene and environmental crime including noise abatement, environmental enforcement (Fly-tipping, Graffiti, Flyposting, and Littering etc.) and wider general public realm enforcement as required. 

You must be able to demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, either through direct management experience or through the supervision of staff as you will be responsible for the performance management of your team. You must also be able to maintain accurate service-specific records to ensure compliance with our reporting obligations. You will need a proactive approach, be driven and have excellent communication skills. 

You will be required to successfully pass security vetting through enhanced DBS checks, local police intelligence checks and Metropolitan Police Service Security Clearance at the CTC (Counter-Terrorism Check) level to be considered for this post.
