Do You Need A C1 Driving Course?
Paramedics, Technicians and other Ambulance staff now need a category C1 Driving Licence!
Many paramedics who graduate without a category C1 licence find themselves unable to find work. This is because when you apply for a job with an Ambulance trust, whether after graduating
or by direct entry, they will expect you to have the C1 category already on your licence.
Universities do vary on their driving licence requirements. Although some just require you to have a provisional C1 licence and allow you to gain the licence during the holidays, MOST will require you to have your full C1 entitlement before interviews, they will then give you your blue light training thus increasing your employability after graduation.
NETWORK HGV ONLY use ambulances exactly like the ones you will drive when you qualify and get your job.We are passionate about not just getting you your licence but ensuring you are completely comfortable when you start your job behind the wheel. We give the Trainee the greatest possible chance of passing as we believe it is the right tool for the job.
