All change at Medicman

Following the purchase of London based private ambulance and events cover service “Medicman”, by Lifeskills Medical in March of last year, the dual name Lifeskills Medicman has been used for both the private ambulance side and the event medical cover side of the business.

Now, the name Medicman is being replaced so that all services from training, ambulance operations, and events cover will use the name Lifeskills Medical. Managing Director Dr. Glyn F Roberts told us, “When we purchased Medicman, the business was doing well with some high profile clients, and we are proud to be able to continue to move the business forward. As Lifeskills Medical is known predominately as a training organisation, and we train ambulance crews as part of our profile, there is a lot of sense and synergy in developing the business by operating our own private ambulance service and event medical cover service”.

With its IHCD accreditation for training ambulance technicians, Lifeskills Medical is well placed in providing a first class private ambulance service and continuing to offer first class event medical cover. This together with its sister company Lifeskills rescue based at Rockingham in Northampton, makes the Lifeskills Group one of the largest providers of combined training, ambulance, events and rescue provision in the country.

Since the purchase, the fleet of ambulances has grown to twenty eight, with five of the older ambulances being replaced by new Renault Masters with McNeillie conversions, and new larger premises for the London operation are now being sought, so the time is now right to streamline everything under the Lifeskills Medical name.

A further development is the expansion of the private ambulance service to operate from the Stafford headquarters where Midlands coverage can be offered. Logistics Staff member Lee Woodend advised us: “As the ambulance provision expands, we are always on the look out for competent and keen crew members to work either from London or Stafford, and would be happy to talk with anyone who wants to find out more.
