Air Ambulance Conference

At this month's Association of Air Ambulances Conference the new Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt, will address delegates via a video link on Monday 19th November.

Also speaking at the event will be the top 'blue light 'chiefs; Sir Hugh Orde, President of the Association of Chief Police Officers; Vij Randeniya, President of the Chief Fire Officers Association and Anthony Marsh, Chairman of the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives.
Commenting on the forthcoming event, National Director of the Association of Air Ambulances, Clive Dickin, said: "The Conference will highlight the vital impact the air ambulance community has on healthcare provision in the UK. Delegates will find a range of clinical, operational and business speakers at the event and they will even have the opportunity to engage with them in a question time special."

Also speaking at this year's conference will be Ian Biggs from the Care Quality Commission. Plenary session speakers will include: Paul Savage from the RNLI, Sir Keith Porter, Professor of Clinical Traumatology at University Hospital Birmingham; Jonathan Benger, Professor of
Emergency Care University of West of England and AE Consultant Bristol Royal Infirmary; Dr Phil Cowburn Consultant in Emergency Medicine Bristol Royal Infirmary; Debra Alcock-Tyler from the Civil Society and Tim Beech, Managing Editor of BBC Radio Shropshire. With the entire programme counting towards CPD points there has never been a better opportunity to update your knowledge of the air ambulance sector.

The Association will also launch its prestigious "Air Ambulance Awards of Excellence". These awards will reflect the incredible dedication to duty and support of those involved in the air ambulance community and will be awarded for the first time in 2013.
