Leading automotive interior climate control specialist expands product range & service

Doncaster - June 21st 2012. World-leading automotive interior heating, cooling and ventilation specialist Webasto Group is pleased to announce the completion of the acquisition of CV air conditioning systems manufacturer Diavia S.r.l., located in Molinella, Italy.

From June 1st 2012 Webasto Product UK Ltd has taken over all sales activities of the Diavia product portfolio from the former Diavia distributor, a Webasto competitor. This take-over enables Webasto to offer an outstandingly comprehensive product range in the sectors of heating and cooling systems for commercial vehicles, mini and midibuses, ambulances, emergency response vehicles and especially all types of off-road vehicles, which has already proved to be an important and highly successful growth market for the company.

Speaking of the acquisition Steve Powell, Sales and Marketing Director at Webasto Product UK Ltd said: "This important acquisition helps us to significantly expand our product selection and increase our regional footprint for cooling systems for specialist vehicles. The Diavia product range dovetails perfectly into our existing product portfolio. It also brings us an important step closer to our goal of becoming the leading systems supplier of heating and cooling products from one source to the UK's off-highway and special vehicle market. This, coupled with our unique "one button" commercial vehicle climate control system offers major benefits for both body builders and end users, through simpler installation and easier, more accurate temperature control. Existing Diavia customers can be reassured that Webasto will provide continued supply and full spare parts availability, whilst providing the highest levels of support for the Diavia dealer network."

The acquisition is also excellent news for existing Webasto customers as it strengthens and extends the depth of service and support available through the combination of Webasto's and Diavia's dealer networks, which will both be backed by the unique nationwide, 24/7, mobile engineer repair and maintenance service Webasto provides in association with Marshall Fleet Solutions.
