The North East Ambulance Service has been voted the best ambulance trust in the country at an event held in the Emirates Stadium in North London.
The Trust received this latest accolade from Health Business Magazine.

Judges awarded the honour to the Trust for embracing change and demonstrating an increase in response times; the ability to provide treatment at the scene of an accident; and the provision of outpatient services.

Dr Hilary Jones presented the award to Stephanie Basra, assistant director of operations, and Colin Graham, paramedic team leader from Washington, during the ceremony at Arsenal's football stadium.

Stephanie said, "It is a great honour to receive this accolade. The Health Business Awards showcases the best of the NHS success stories and celebrates the significant contributions made each year by organisations.
The Trust was short listed with the West Midlands Ambulance Service and London Ambulance Service for the award.
