Casual Ambulance Crews

LOCATION: Chesterfield & Matlock

The British Red Cross helps vulnerable people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are.

Covering annual leave, sickness, training shifts, out-of-hours, candidates must be contactable via mobile phone to meet the needs of the service.

To support the delivery of a short-term contract with the statutory ambulance service, the British Red Cross is seeking to recruit enthusiastic ambulance crew members who are willing to work shifts, out-of-hours, to transport patients within the North Derbyshire area. The post holders will be required to respond to requests from ambulance control, attend and treat patients and transport them to the designated hospital or other location. A comprehensive first aid qualification is essential for this post, as is a willingness to undertake training and maintain competencies. A full driving licence is also required. Excellent communication skills and an ability to work unsupervised with your crew-mate, along with the ability to demonstrate commitment to high quality patient care is essential.

Ambulance Support Co-ordinator

LOCATION: Matlock (or Nottingham)


The British Red Cross helps vulnerable people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are.

To support the delivery of a short-term contract with the statutory ambulance service, the British Red Cross is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic co-ordinator with excellent organisational skills and an ability to work out of hours, independently and flexibly.

The post holder will be required to support and manage ambulance staff, ensuring that we provide a reliable, high quality service to patients at all times. Excellent communication skills and good analysis and decision-making abilities are essential for this post.
