NHS Confederation comments on patient choice survey findings

Commenting on the survey findings, Nigel Edwards, Policy Director at the NHS Confederation, which represents over 95% of NHS organisations, said:
“We have made a great deal of progress on the take up and awareness of choice since this survey started. With the advent of free choice from April of this year we expect these figures to improve further in future.
“Choice is such a powerful mechanism that small changes in patient behaviour can effect large scale changes in the NHS system as a whole. Variations in figures over relatively short periods are less important than the positive benefits choice can bring over time
